Ultimul an de navigație pentru noi a fost unul epic. Am făcut niște lucruri minunate, cum ar fi navigarea peste CEL MAI MARE OCEAN DE PE PLANETĂ! Whenever you have to diagnose a diesel fuel problem, a fuel pressure guage set is the best diagnostic tool ever for figuring out pumps, lines and injectors.
Sandblasting that thing.
If you have the opportunity put it in 30 % of hydrochloric acid. After 2 treatments it will be as new. I had a Koppel of gasoline engines totally clogged by rust ( Marna and FM) made in Norway and I treated them with 100% of the Acid. They get like brand new!!! I've also have used on parts of now existing engine VP TAMD 70 E with great success. Good luck to both of You.

As a marine Diesel mechanic for over 40 years my favorite question to customers is, do you replace just one shoe when your shoes go bad? you have two engines you replace things in pairs. And you could’ve eliminated that problem by not babying the engines. Diesel engines like and need to be run up to generate heat to remove carbon.

Tell your friends sailing with you, he needs to be shade tree mechanical and electrical engineer like Warren. Great fix on the motor, and everything else.
If it hasn’t been suggested a dozen times already: your 2 old exhaust elbows, to be saved/used as spares , need a boric acid bath/soaking. The mechanic above is correct: 2 new elbows! I took a 3 day MacBoring diesel course. Among the many things I learned: run your sailboat diesel as a power boat about once a month, full throttle for 5+ hours!

Oven cleaner should sort the carbon. I use it to clean my diesels intake manifold. Oven cleaner and after a soak powerhouse
