Costa Rica, shame it's only a couple days, probably need a month just to scratch the surface of what's there.
At least people will see your uneventful visit as a reason to visit with little worry. Every place has good & bad, sometimes the warnings are overblown
I met the Howlers in Boca Chica. About 15 meters above me. First the sticks started landing around me then I heard the pee hitting the sand. Backed out onto the beach rapido! Hilarious.
Here is another poem about a sailor's yearning for sea and land (especially after braving those Pappagallos).
White Wings on an Ocean
defying the moon’s pull.
The sailor laughs himself
off the harsh brown land.
His hold crammed for survival,
he tempts death.
White Wings on an Ocean,
straining, a billowing team.
The sailor braces against his contrary wheel
raping the rudder as lines wail taut.
The storm flogs with malice.

screamed into shreds that bandage the mast.
A halyard flails, lifelines gone,

We had a sail just like yours on the East Coast of Australia 3 weeks ago on a 35' cat– it was pretty tough and the video never shows just how crazy it is out there. Did you notice the large tri next to you– are they still running charters? Phil
