💙 Cine suntem? 1. Well A+++ for effort. I hope it works and looks good when the boat is in the water. I'm not convinved though I have to say!

  2. Water in clear tubing makes for an easy level. You place on end at a known location. The other end of the tubing will be moved around and mark your level line. Add food coloring to the water in the tube to make it easier to see.

  3. Just to expand on the many comments about using a water level, if a long piece of clear tubing isn't available, then a short piece, say 12" or 300mm, at each end of a common garden hose would work just fine. Station one person at the reference point on the rudder and have him call out up/down directions to the person at the other end. When the reference end is on the mark, so is the other end. Mark it and repeat.

  4. Marvelous, scoring the waterline before painting. Sometimes a transit is used, however was wondering if the Naval Architect drawings of Yaba where available. Can't wait for her to be floating on the waterline. Good Luck, she looks beautiful.

  5. I am sure You could rent a surveyors transit. Set the scope up level with the rudder location then turn it and mark the line along the hull, assuming the ship sitting in the floating attitude for and aft.

  6. Don't stress over getting it perfect this time. It's only an estimate anyway and you will surely end up modifying it at the 1st haul-out after launching – you have changed the ballast , completely rebuilt the hull with different/extra timber and added a completely different interior. On the otherhand maybe the boat was very wet when last painted? No way that boat will float at the same displacement or pitch it did before you hauled out.

  7. Without a doubt the most beautiful restoration of a wooden boat:) Nevertheless your response to my post was completely vague and liberal. With words you called me nonsensical without evidence And think that should be good enough. Show me what you do for the poor:)

  8. I think that drawing the actual waterline is the easiest part, but after having done so, it would be awkward to finally launch the boat and find the waterline completely underwater… or completely above water… or even worse, not parallel to the water!

  9. Water level is the simplest old school solution, but don't you have a laser level handy? Since you don't actually know how she is going to float, maybe you should skip the waterline for now and do it at the next haulout after you've floated Yaba and loaded diesel, water and all the equipment/toys that she will carry..

  10. So all you needed was a clear bit of hose.. enough to go from port to starboard at midships… Fill with water to where you want the line to be. An mark it every few feet an connect the dots…. That's how my Da did it… He used that method for many things…..

  11. You know, you could have just built the yacht out completely, loaded it up, up it in the water, marked the waterline, pulled the boat out, and then with a rotating laser transit which would sweep the entire boat, and then you can mark it and draw it. Simple. Point is, the water line might very well change because the weight of the boat might change, and this method takes that into consideration. But best of luck, let's see how you do it. Best of luck!

  12. MP i didn’t get to see much of you in this video but I still think you are adorable. Can’t wait to see your pretty face when that engine is hooked up and spinning that prop……😊

  13. Seems you don't like critsisim, the boat is interesting but you two are not. Water line will have changed a little, let's hope your close when Yaba goes in.

  14. In construction, they use a self leveling laser level to get matching elevations in large and small spaces.
Seems such a thing would work well for you in this case….although, by the time you read this, you will no doubt have solved the problem.😊

  15. The propshaft arrived and the propellor. And yaba will be in her habitat soon. Great work of the shipyard and both of you ! Thanks for sharing on you tube Ben and MP.⛵️
