The important factor in boat size that people ignore: stability: if yiu double the size of a boat then you will multiply the righting moment by a factor of 16!. And because the waterline length has doubled you will go 40% faster with the same power. Only because the righting moment has multiplied 16 times you will likely have more power…..
"not too wide, long waterline and a big rig"….sounds like a recipe for a perfect cruising boat. Look at the designs of Schumacher, Dashew, Joe Adams, Graham Radford and even Herreschoff himself often drew long waterline boats with low beam and generous rigs, and for good reason

Wow, that was so cool ! Everyone needsa friend like Demetrius ! The Raft Up was perfect !,The lady that one the Golden Globe round the world race without a GPS ect, Kiersten, had a 36 foot boat. Solo with no stops whatsoever all the way around ! A Morgan. She's the only woman to do this ever.

….. there was a lot of mention about being end of season and the 9 mths previous spent on the hard …. hope it was also the nine mth prep was well worth it and next season will trump this one … also there were the trials and tribulations that Grace endured to be here as well, which we all hope are behind her for the future …. loved the excitement of the sail changes to attain an edge …. thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans …..
