I've watched all of the recent sea trials of other multihull YouTubers, and I gotta say, yours was by far the smoothest and most professional. Kudos to the boat, the team, and Jason and Nikki for not creating fake drama and making a lovely, grownup sailing video. There's enough real drama taking an untested boat out in challenging waters. And I LOVED the new sail design, Nikki, it's striking and elegant. I now have sail envy 😀

I'm really enjoying the content but I have a few sail related questions. Can you tack the solent without furling it? Also I have rarely heard the name "solent" for a foresail, what is the difference between a solent and a normal overlapping J2 genoa? Based on the fact that you have a self-tacker on an inner forestay (great for upwind) and a gennaker for fownwind, I'm assuming the solent is like a big genoa for reaching and beam wind conditions.

One thing though, your new life jackets – do they have a crotch strap? There is nothing worse ending up in the water with your life jacket floating up at your head instead of supporting your body when inflated. I ended up sewing a crotch strap in after a mishap where that scenario played out and I was fighting to pull the life jacket back down. A big bummer for sure.

I am so excited, just as are you two. Am only half way through this ep but can't wait for the reveal of where we are already. I know it has been forever but it kinda feels just like yesterday since "we" were sailing on Curiosity then this new boat adventure began……. From what I have seen your new boat looks amazing.
And of course 2 (or is it 4 now) of my other vicarious sailing heroes (Nahoa) have announced their own journey to a new super cool new cat

Of course you and the rest of the sailing world, knows that Kiwis are no slouches when it comes to boat anything, , not to mention racing, –which of course you know only too well after so long down here.ACup has become an extreme sport under NZ's period of governance. is a far cry from watching paint dry on the AC races of old…… Any way Nahoa's choice of an Aluminium (pronounced "a lu min ium rather than alu min um (no I) in US English) chassis has only recently been becoming a popular choice for CATS. Wow! I am so excited for you guys. We've been following you since the day in a life for your rv life. It helped us decide to rv for 5 years, which just ended last year when we moved on to our dream farm. My hubby would love to try sailing, but im pretty sure id be ok just visiting your sailboat. Living at sea is a little beyond me, I'm more of a land creature, lol, but it's been sooo cool watching you all chase your dreams and have absolutely inspired us to chase ours. Thank you for sharing.
