Styx and Boston and ELO and others back in late 70"s this was all cutting edge used custom built sometimes 1 of a kind keyboards since all previous were mono tone or single voice keyboards no-one could even duplicate the sounds for almost 5 years and they were very expensive ! !!!

So Styx has 3 different lead singers – each with their own style and sound. This was Dennis DeYoung; same as the last song you listened to. He's the Broadway show sound.
Try a song by Tommy Shaw – crazy blond guitarist. He has an amazing range.
"Crystal Ball" is amazingly touching song, and a sort of follow-up to that song "Man in the Wilderness" (which is on the same album as Come Sail Away, and Grand Illusion that you reacted to).
The third lead singer is James "JY" Young another guitarist with a huskier raspy voice that is their true "hard rock" sounding vocals.
try "Miss America" "Half-Penny Two-Penny" and "Snowblind" (which he duets w/ Tommy).
If you're looking for more Dennis numbers: "Suite Madam Blue", "Rocking the Paradise" and "The Best of Times".
