I swear, seeing the comments on that video where Ben reinstalled it backwards and reading through it. I was just thinking "Holy ** the engine MP worked so hard on could completely fry!" it just made me die inside, thinking you never saw their warnings and might splash with an overheating engine.

The time to launch Yaba gets closer in each video. We have loved following your building her and soon we shall get to see how good you both will be sailing her. One last item, you acknowledged the black water tank but not how you will discharge all the while respecting regulations. How long can you sit without needing to discharge? ARE YOU NOT INSTALLING A FORWARD LOOKING SONAR?

My family & I used lights back in the old days to attract fish to our net. One has to stay shallow to avoid squid and shark. The aggressive species are attracted by lights rather strongly. That is what causes fishing off the port piers to be a successful and popular pastime
I don’t mean to be negative but having built boats for many years I never understood why you would put more holes in your boat for underwater lights. The light gets covered in marine growth and you end up cleaning them non stop
They also attract many unwanted creatures including snakes
Having said that I love all your enthusiasm

I saw some really weird comments about Yaba in a sailing forum – all this contemptuous stuff about how Ben and MP didn't know what they were doing, were over their heads, were being ripped off and so on. I wish those experts could be invited to the launch. Yaba is beautiful, strong, functional, and very livable.

Way back when I had understood that this boat was intended as the base for a snorkelling, scuba diving, and watching wildlife (whales, dolphins and the like) project. I thought the rebuild to be an excellent dream with a useful and practical aim. Unfortunately I eventually stopped following the channel as I began to find it trivial, superficial and far from serious. I just happened to see on YouTube the most recent episode showing a picture of the "saveiro" with what looked like the unbelievable addition of 8 through-hull installed lights. In most of the serious boat build and rebuild channels on YouTube you are guaranteed to find almost everyone trying to eliminate if not all the underwater through-hulls then as many as possible. MP, who appears to have a good dose of common sense, said something about the boat becoming a party vessel. Does this mean that the Brazilian coast will have to withstand yet another noisy day tripper "saveiro", full of happily inebriated and shouting tourists, all quite unaware of the multiple risks below the water line? What a pity and how dangerous!!

The large lights at the stern will also be a safety feature so that when people are swimming or diving in that area they will be able see the propellor. A good idea.

The uw-lights should to only at the stern! …on the transom, illuminating the water around the platform. I would never switch them on for night dives, they are bright and blind divers. (single beacon is ok). the lights should be on at night attracting lots of fish and sharks and/or dolphin eating them. Can be a great show!… but it should be concentrated at the stern area and you don't want guest cowling around the boat at night.

Look like Lumitec Sea Breeze lights. The spectrum lights are at least 500 each. So what more important parts could you have spent in excess of $6,000 on ?
