Too much talking sorry Im gone
Not Nuts at all. 😄
Use a hacksaw blade
There was a reason that you guys loved your time in England so much – Jess you are 23% English – yay 👏🏻👏🏻😃🏴
Good job and performance 👍👍👍 Have a great day 😉 Greetings 😎
Enjoy the whole process and have been watching from the start, don't you just love technology in boat building. I started building boats in 1964 and i am impressed with your skills. Have you looked at MACGLIDE for your below water line rather than paint.
Good luck. Loneranger.
Are those engine room rated by the ABYC and USCG ?
I don't envy your job when it comes to condensing this build into one video. How do you decide what to put in and leave out when so much of what you record is so interesting and important … This is one that stays I think!! Stay Safe & Fair Winds!!

You should try to open your valve because Maybe the hot plastic weld it shot
Great explanations Matt – very helpful! Thx.
What happened to the LIKE symbol?
Pro tip; when using a holesaw in fiberglass laminate, run the drill backwards. You get a lot more control and almost the same efficiency. You will never get ugly tear marks around the holes, from the holesaw jumping around when it suddenly and violently grabs hold of the material.
When you are sanding the next through hole, use some tape around it so you don’t damage the gelcoat. It takes a lot of work to fix those scratches you made. And use a random orbital sander, it doesn’t melt the plastic that much. And do the final sanding by hand, then you save a lot of work fixing the area around.
Cool fittings indeed, I have used Marelon on our cat as well. I was surprised in the method of fixing though, as it is standard practice in boat building to double the thickness of the outer and inner laminate and normally remove a section of core and make it a solid laminate… So it will be interesting to see how they hold up over time. As to race boats, building methods and layups have been stripped to a bare minimum to save weight and also because the life span of a modern race yacht is only about 5 years, so longevity is not so important. Cheers Rustie.
Surprised you havent designed things to have no thru hulls under the waterline or at the most one
didn't show the outside of that valve, never mind, that's really cool.
These flush thruhulls came with my racing sailboat 20 years ago. They are great and require no maintenance. You do have to make sure the holes are clean if you leave them open for a long time. Sometimes stuff grows there and they become hard to close.
I'm no rocket scientist but I do know a little bit about plumbing. How is a marine toilet going to push #2 through a 1" PVC pipe into your holding tank?
Since you don't have an outside fitting like the older brass through hull fittings, are you worried if it fails you'll have a hole in your hull?
Because the valve goes up and down , does this mean you will open and close more often, or barnacles could crow in the tube ?
Is it to small a diameter for a toilet outlet ?
Love that flush mount seacock! Im gonna look at those for my boat. Also great meeting yall at the boat show.

Watching your journey is fun and we especially enjoyed watching this video!

Are you actually going to be doing passages with your seaclocks closed? Seems a major pita to gain a miniscule amount of efficiencey and one you'll never use anyway.
I would hope someone made the thru hull part in stainless or brass? The plastic part looks really cheap for a multi year part in contact with salt.
Cut it with a hacksaw before you put it in.
Any chance that you could wrap the seacock in a plastic bag then just tape around the flange?
