  1. Like the video, would like to see more about the upgrades you have done. I just got the call this week for a slip in shoreline now i'm looking for a Catalina 34 that's not too much of a project boat.

  2. Good sail! Hellespont Douglas is UK registered. Glad you didn't sink 'em. I have a similar stack pack–UK Sails version they call the Lazy Cradle. Great upgrade for single-handed sailing.

  3. Very good, some people talk way to much when all you need is like Steve McQueen, very little words and more action. Sailing speaks for it self with just a little instruction from you, that’s the way I think to enjoy kinda what you’re experiencing in that moment like how you put the camera on the side. We don’t get enough of that experience. I guess it’s time to get a sailboat and go for it! Thanks man ⛵️great job!

  4. Just came across your channel….Your doing what iam nervous AF to do…Been following all these other channels about sailing …. I’ll be following your channel. Good luck with your new boat…….No Hot co-captain ???…..Tommy.st.Petersburg FL.

  5. I just came across your channel today, (E2), I like what I've seen–subscribed–will now watch second episode. As a land locked arm chair sailor from west central Alberta, I enjoy watching all aspects of a persons sailing experience, building, renovating, problem solving and just sailing. Take care, be safe and enjoy YOUR life on the water.

  6. Some have provision to pull the lazy jacks forward while raising the main. You can raise sail slightly powered and just pull the leeward lazy jacks forward. Then some keep their jacks forward while sailing and only deploy them when dropping sail. You can also drop the main slightly powered by easing the leeward jacks just a little bit. Keeps the main from flapping.

  7. Nice afternoon sail – thanks for taking us along for the ride and I like your channel – perhaps for docking you could lay out some form of protector for the boat especially on the ends? Also, to dock it might be a good idea to take a forward cleated springer and cleat it to the dock off the stern first… but hey, nice sail and I like your boat… especially the price you paid – really good buy!!

  8. Lovely video! You might get a bit more performance (especially upwind) if you tighten up the luff of the main. If you take a look at it, you'll see creases coming from each slide on the luff of the main; that should be flat, without those creases. You can either use the winch for that last bit when you're hoisting the main, or use the downhaul to tension it from below (or both!).

    Happy sailing!

  9. If you read the owners manual, you should put the engine in neutral and increase the RPM's for about 30 seconds, then bring back to idle and immediately shut it off. Helps blow out carbon, which diesels create a lot of at low RPM's.
