  1. i can't get a cryptic link on the comments, with out it getting deleated….IT'S JUST FOR EXPLANATION PURPOSES YOUTUBE !!! …..anyway….Prop Gen Electric Drive…pull the motor and fuel tank.

  2. Thank you for producing this channel. We love what you are doing and your way of being in this world. Keep it up! I've sent a link to your channel to my granddaughters to show them it is possible for a woman, or anyone, to live on their own terms.

  3. Hi Holly, The exhaust elbow is always clogging on diesel powered boats. The carbon build up can be avoided by revving the engine at 2,500 to 3,000 revs for the last 3 to five minutes before you shut down. That will burn off the carbon which builds up when running at low speeds. It will also clog up the raw water cooling of the exhaust elbow so should be regularly checked and cleaned, say every six months or sooner with regular use. I keep a spare elbow. André in Sydney

  4. Background song is City Girl by Flux Vortex – took me awhile to find it probably because it is royalty free…could not get it out of my head….great video as always

  5. I love that song… "People are nice but its only for the tips, the weathers fine but its nothing i would miss…" – Do you know where I can find it? Or it's author/singer/etc. – Thanks!

  6. and Maybe you can get a sponsor for the video series ???…..i would film every part of a conversion….if you do one, do it…you can put it together in post editing.

and get jobs there, while you're waiting for the parts and and materials. ( get a job hippie : ) you will be better off for it away…..EDIT: i just thought of something else, your 12V solar charge controller wont work on a 48V pack….but here's the thing….you wont need it….you could actually sell your solar panels and charge controller…..someone will buy that….it's less crap……….you could also see what you can get for your lead-acid batteries….However, you are also going to have to get a DC to DC converter, ( 48V to 12 V ), for your 12 V busses….that's shouldn't be too bad.

EDIT: oh and your shore power battery charger…sell that too….the one you need is different…..
and maybe they can give you a little for the fuel tank..

  7. I have had my tows as well! I love how you just keep on going. And, the cruising community does seem to always come through and help a fellow traveler! It's great to see the teamwork, camaraderie and friendship of everyone there in action. Best wishes with the engine, those struggles are real for sure.

  8. Probably too late to advise you now as I expect you’ve fixed the manifold, but they make them with a ceramic inside finish which reduces that crud build, and corrosion. It’s an expensive part…

  9. Great to see chicks on boats. U girls r pretty hot too. Wish I could be a deckhand on your boat with U guys. Will just throw this out but any chance either one of U r single?

  10. Yes, the backdrop looks New Zealandy to me. Hope you're enjoying the awesome-ness that is New Zealand. Best outdoor country I've visited because it is more accessible and varied than Switzerland and grander than the UK and has a great variety of landscapes and climates and great 3 day hikes and volcanoes and great beaches and The Pipeline etc etc etc. I've been meaning to revisit for the last 10 years, though there are many other countries.

Still impressed by your free-diving skills.

  11. A person should be able to do some sculling with the rudder. I was becalmed one night when the motor wouldn't start and sculled about 3 miles to get to the moor. Might try that some time.

  12. Accomplished sailor, diver, climber, videographer, mechanic, troubleshooter extraordinaire and music maestro supervisor, etc. Perfect background song and lyrics! (Flux Vortex – City Girl) – Kewl!
